Caitlin lives in the woods. I live near the river.
We both carry stories in our bones and turn them loose on the page.
This week, we met in the middle. On a livestream for what I called a Not Quite An Interview. No scripts. No spotlights. Just a casual conversation between two women who write what sometimes haunts them and grow what heals.
Caitlin is the voice behind Hag Under the Wood, a mythweaver, high school teacher, and the heart behind Elder Creek Apothecary. She writes childhood trauma into modern folklore, teaches nervous system regulation to teenagers, and somehow still makes time to dream a trilogy into being.
Her words feel like moss and marrow. Her apothecary feels like the kind of place a lost girl would find herself and finally feel found.
As for me, I’m the witch of Four Winds Witchery. My magick is river-fed and ancestor-soaked. I write, teach, and hold space for new witches and old souls alike. My work is about sovereignty, healing, and keeping the sacred open to all who seek it.
We talked about the plants that feel like sisters. The myths that won’t leave us alone. The quiet magick of tending, teaching, and transforming.
